Sound Bath & Introduction to Sound Healing & Meditation (Rochester)

  • Frequency Wellness 34 Elton Street Rochester, NY, 14607 United States (map)

A sound bath is a multi-sensory guided meditation experience.

Sound and silence are as fundamental to the human experience as breath and light. We use sound to connect, communicate, heal and transform. Both modern science and ancient spirituality agree that sound and music can have a profound impact on human consciousness.

Together, we will explore how and why music, song and prayer can be powerful, practical tools for meditation and healing. Our session will include a guided sound meditation as well as an open conversation about these topics. Your questions and comments are welcome and appreciated as part of a co-created experience.

The Sonic Institute unites ancient spirituality with modern science to reveal the impact of sound vibration on health and consciousness. Join us for this guided sound meditation and conversation about the principles of sound healing from global perspectives.

Singing bowls, gongs, flutes, crystal instruments, drums, guitars, and a range of other tools are used throughout the journey. Vibrations and overtones produced by these powerful instruments can be felt throughout the body. Sound baths hold space for deep relaxation, emotional release, and setting intentions for the future.

The event will also include an orientation to the vast world of sound healing and meditation to better integrate the experience.

Adrian DiMatteo (B.M. Eastman School of Music, 2012) is the founder of the Sonic Institute. He is an international performing and recording artist, author (Elements of Sound: A Full-Spectrum Exploration of Sound and Consciousness), music educator, app creator (Chord Atlas), and sound meditation facilitator with over 20 years’ experience in the music world. Adrian has toured and traveled extensively—exploring sound, language, musical culture and how they affect individual and collective wellbeing. Hundreds of students have graduated from Sound Healer Training programs and weekend retreats that Adrian regularly facilitates nationwide. To date, he has offered musical experiences to thousands of people in hospitals, hospices, elder care facilities, prisons and children’s centers.
